José Fuentes es Ingeniero en Informática por la Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, en la que también trabajó como investigador y como profesor asociado.
Tras la consecución de su título, colaboró en la fundación de una compañía como spin-off de esta Universidad, donde se ha especializado en Ingeniería de Requisitos, Gestión de Proyectos, Ingeniería de Sistemas, y técnicas para la reutilización y medición de calidad de los activos generados en estos proyectos. Todos estos aspectos principalmente a través de un enfoque práctico, y la definición de una serie de herramientas software que ayuden a los ingenieros en todas estas actividades.
En la actualidad es Director de Ventas de la compañía The REUSE Company, desarrollando y comercializando a nivel mundial soluciones para la mejora de la calidad de requisitos y modelos.
José también ha liderado la participación de The REUSE Company en varios proyectos de investigación, tanto a nivel nacional, como a nivel europeo.
José es miembro del consejo de dirección del capítulo español de INCOSE (AEIS – Asociación Española para la Ingeniería de Sistemas), desde donde se intentan promover las buenas prácticas y certificaciones relacionadas con la Ingeniería de Sistemas.
En relación con INCOSE, José tiene la certificación CSEP desde el año 2018, y ha formado parte de la tercera promoción del Technical Leadership Institute. José es considerado major contributor de la “INCOSE Guide for Writing Requirements”, así como revisor de otras guías y contribuyente activo en el equipo de trabajo Requirements WG.
José Fuentes ha publicado el libro “Real-time quality assessment of the INCOSE Guide for Writing Requirements Rules: A Tailoring Guide”, así como numerosas guías, librerías y contribuciones en webinars y podcasts relacionados con la gestión de requisitos.
Short bio
José Fuentes obtained his degree in Information Science at the Carlos III University of Madrid (Spain), where he also worked as researcher and as an associated prfessor.
After getting his degree, he founded, together with other 5 colleagues, an SME with the vision of streamlining the software development processes. After some years as product manager of tools aimed at software engineers, he and his company turned into the systems engineering discipline.
His professional experience is focused on the Management of software and systems related projects, as well as training and consultancy activities related to project management (PMP), CMMI, requirements management, logical modelling, and systems engineering.
José is now the Chief Sales Officer of The REUSE Company, dealing with worldwide customers and partners in the fields of aerospace, defence, automotive, railway…
José has also led the contribution of The REUSE Company in several large research projects, both at national level, and also at European level.
José is member of the Board of Directors of the Spanish Chapter of INCOSE (AEIS – Asociación Española para la Ingeniería de Sistemas).
Related with INCOSE, José obtained his CSEP – Certified Systems Engineering Professional – certification in 2018, and he is a graduated member of the 3er Cohort of the Technical Leadership Institute. José is considered as major contributor of the “INCOSE Guide for Writing Requirements”, as well as reviewer of other guides and active contributor to the Requirements Working Group.
